Caption.Ed's feature allows users to update and change speaker labels post-session, enhancing the accuracy and clarity of transcriptions. This guide will walk you through the process of editing these labels to make your media as accessible as possible.
Accessing your session
You'll need to go ahead and access your past session to update speaker labels. Here's how:
- Log into your Caption.Ed account here.
- Navigate to the 'Library' area where your past sessions are listed.
- Select the session you wish to edit by clicking on it.
Editing speaker names
Updating the name of the speaker is a straightforward process:
- Selecting the label: Click directly on the speaker label you wish to change. It will become editable.

Renaming the label: Click the pencil icon in the top right and enter the correct name in the box.

Saving the change: Press the checkmark next to the name to save the new speaker name.
Setting colour for the speaker
Updating the colour of the speaker is a straightforward process:
- Selecting the label: Click directly on the speaker label you wish to change. It will become editable.
- Renaming the label: Click the "⋯" icon in the top right, select "Set colour" and select the colour you wish for the speaker to be.
Adding or removing a speaker
If there is a speaker you wish to add or remove, you can do so in a few quick steps:
- Selecting the label: Click directly on the speaker label you wish to change. It will become editable.
- Adding a new speaker: Below the speaker list is a box where you can enter the name of the new speaker you wish to add, then click the "+" button.

Unassigning a speaker: Next to the current speaker's name, click the "..." button and the unassign from paragraph button.
