You can now get captions from both your microphone and your browser tab at the exact same time. This is perfect for recording a Microsoft Teams meeting in your browser, while also captioning what you are saying within that meeting.
How to Start Recording
First, log into Caption.Ed in the browser. Once logged in, click the "New" button on the top left-hand side.
Now that you have clicked on the "New" Button, a drop-down menu will appear. you need to click on the "Recording button"
How to record audio from your Microphone
For the first time, you will be asked to grant permissions for Caption.Ed to use your Microphone. Depending on your internet browser, you should click Allow. For more information on this, choose one of our guides below:

If you want to record your voice, then just click on the "Microphone" Button and then a drop-down menu should appear where you can select your microphone of choice.
Alternatively, if you do not want your voice recorded, then you can turn the microphone off.
If you do not want to record a different browser tab then you can select "Start Recording".
How to record audio and video from your Tab (Chrome/Edge)
However, if you want to record a different browser tab alongside your Microphone audio or by itself, then you need to click on the "Select a Tab" button, where you can choose which tab you would like to record the video and audio for.
Note:
Tab recording is only compatible with Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge
Then you need to select your tab of choice, turn the share audio toggle on, and click on the share button in the bottom left-hand corner.
Tip:
For the most accurate captions, we recommend you use headphones. This way, it stops any chance of audio echoing.
How to record Microphone and Tab together
With Microphone Audio and Tab, you can choose to record one or the other or both! For both, make sure you have turned on your Microphone and have selected the Tab that you want to record. They should both appear with a green "On" button.
Finally, once you are happy with the options you have picked, all you need to do is click on the "Start Recording" button and then Caption.Ed will start generating captions for you.
