I have a License Key, how do I get started?

So you've received a license key for access to Caption.Ed, great! This article will talk you through the steps to setting up your license and getting started.

Getting Started

Step 1: Installing Caption.Ed

  • First, you need to install Caption.Ed by clicking here, and then clicking 'add to Chrome'.

Step 2: Enable Caption.Ed

  • Next, click on the Caption.Ed icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. If you can't see the Caption.Ed icon, then click on the small grey jigsaw logo, and then you should see the Caption.Ed icon in the dropdown.

Step 3: Entering your License Key

  • When you click on the Caption.Ed icon you'll be prompted to Sign-in, Sign-up, or Enter License Key. Select 'Enter License Key' and copy in your license key.
  • Shortly after starting using Caption.Ed, you'll be prompted to set up a username and password. You will then be able to sign in to your dashboard linked here.


If you have already created a personal trial account that you wish to sync
with your license key in order to redeem extra credit, please click here.

Step 4: Complete Onboarding

  • You are almost ready to start captioning, but before you do we recommend you go through our brief onboarding session here. It will take less than five minutes and help you familiarise yourself with Caption.Ed.

Step 5: Set-up Username and Password

  • Shortly after starting using Caption.Ed, you'll be prompted to set up a username and password. You will then be able to sign in to your dashboard linked here.
