Why is my audio crackling?

Occasionally, you might find that whilst running Caption.Ed your audio crackles. This usually only happens when using the browser extension, and it's normally a sign that your computer is struggling to run too many applications at once. 

We would recommend you try the following things to help resolve this: 

  • Ensure you are running the latest version of the Chrome or Edge browser, and update the browser if required.
  • Close any applications on your computer that you're not currently using.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Ensure you have a reliable internet connection.
  • If crackling persists we'd strongly recommend you move to the desktop Caption.Ed application.
