How do I set a usage cap?

As an administrator on an institutional Caption.Ed site license, here's how you can set a usage cap for all your users, or individual users. 

Setting a cap for all users: 

Step 1: Log in to your Caption.Ed dashboard. 

Step 2: Select "Settings" on the left-hand menu, then select "Institutional Admin".

Step 3: Scroll down the page util you see the "Usage cap minutes" option.

Step 4: Enter the maximum number of minutes you want to users to have access to. Click "Save" to confirm the change. 

All of the users on your institutional license will now have this limit applied to their accounts. You can amend the cap at any time, or remove the cap entirely by leaving the box empty and clicking "Save".

   


Setting an individual cap when creating a new user:

Step 1: Log in to your Caption.Ed dashboard. 

Step 2: Select "Users" on the left-hand menu.

Step 3: Select the "New User" option on the right.

Step 4: Enter the new user details. You can set their individual usage cap here. Click "Create User" to confirm the new user.


Setting or changing an individual cap for an existing user:

Step 1: Log in to your Caption.Ed dashboard. 

Step 2: Select "Users" on the left-hand menu.

Step 3: Locate the individual user you want to amend.

Step 4: Enter the amount of minutes you want this user to have access to in the "Usage cap" box. Click "Update User" to confirm the change.
